An excellent lean cut for stove top cooking or grilling. Approximately 0.8 to 0.9 lb per steak, one steak per package. Best cooked rare to medium rare.
How to prepare a Sirloin Steak:
- Let the steak come to room temperature for 30–60 minutes for even cooking.
- Pat the steak dry with paper towels to ensure a good crust.
- Rub the steak with a high-smoke-point oil and season generously with salt and pepper.
- Preheat a cast iron skillet over high heat or preheat your grill to 450 degrees.
- Stovetop: Sear the steak for about 2-3 minutes per side for medium-rare. In the last few minutes, add butter, garlic, and herbs, and baste the steak.
- Grilling: Grill a 1-inch thick steak for 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare. You can rotate the steak for grill marks.
- After cooking, rest the steak for 5–10 minutes before slicing to keep it juicy.
